Business accounts

A business account is how a small studio or a business uses CoyKoi. The business holds the plans and their seats; the people it assigns seats to use CoyKoi on their own accounts.

Setting one up

  1. Turn on two-factor authentication. The owner and admins of a business account need it.
  2. In CoyKoi Admin, open Business → Info and choose New business.
  3. Choose Edit details and fill in the invoice details (legal name, country, VAT number, billing email) and the number of people. Up to five people is a small studio; more is a business.
  4. Open Business → Purchases and choose Buy seats. The prices are on the pricing page.

Roles

  • Owner: one per business. Sets the tier and headcount, manages admins, transfers ownership and closes the business.
  • Admins: invite people, assign and take back seats, remove members.
  • Members: use the seat they are assigned.

People join by invitation, by their CoyKoi handle, from Business → Members. The invite waits in their own CoyKoi Admin until they accept it.

Seats

Seats are managed on Business → Purchases.

  • Assign: under the plan, type a member’s handle and press Enter. They get the plan’s edition on up to three machines, on their own account.
  • Take back: choose Take back on their row. It takes effect at once on the server, and within a week on a machine that stays offline.
  • Reassign: a seat can move to someone else once every 30 days. The plan shows when the next seat frees up.
  • Fewer seats: if you reduce the number of seats, the most recently assigned seats beyond the new number are taken back.

When someone leaves

Leaving a business, or being removed from one, ends that person’s seat only. Their own account, purchases and files stay theirs.

Growing past five people

A small studio with more than five people is flagged on its Info page. Change the tier to Business at the next renewal; nothing stops working in the meantime. Prices never depend on revenue.

Closing a business

Only the owner can close a business, and only once its plans are cancelled. Closing takes back every seat and removes every member. An owner who wants to delete their CoyKoi account first transfers ownership to an admin, or closes the business.
